Jimmy Kimmel Live! is doing its part to help those in need during the ongoing government shutdown.

The “Jimmy Kimmel Live Big, Beautiful Food Bank” will be set up in the late-night ABC show’s Hollywood backlot to benefit the LA Food Bank and St. Joseph Center.

“Cutting SNAP benefits creates uncertainty for American children, seniors and families. To support our community members in need, we’re starting a donation center in our Hollywood backlot to benefit the @LAFoodBank & @StJosephCtr,” reads a post in part on the show’s Instagram account.

The show is urging those in L.A. to come by and donate food, or if not, consider supporting their local food banks.

The donation center is located at 6901 Hawthorn Avenue in Los Angeles with donation hours from 9 AM to 5 PM.

Most needed foods are low-sodium soups/chili/stews; tuna/chicken/salmon (cans or pouches); nut butters, low-sugar cereals, protein bars, whole grain pasta and rice. Also needed are crackers, trail mix, fruit snacks, 100% juice boxes, dried fruti, UHT milk, cereal boxes, wipes, diapers, facial cleanser, deodorant, soap, lotions, oral hygiene items and feminine products.

The federal government shutdown is set to become the longest ever, after a short-term funding bill failed in the Senate yet again.

President Donald Trump indicated earlier today in a post on Truth Social that he would withhold SNAP benefits until  “Radical Left Democrats open up government,” this after two federal judges ordered the president to use available emergency funds to keep SNAP benefits going.  The White House later said it would send out reduced SNAP benefits, but noted the process to recalculate could result in significant delays.
