Eight other candidates are vying for the mayor’s position, including former South Fulton mayor Bill Edwards, who announced his candidacy in April and emphasized the need for reliability in the office.

Other candidates running for the position include:

  • Joseph Adeyemi
  • Mark Baker
  • Kelvin Davis
  • Carmalitha L. Gumbs
  • Jewel A. Johnson
  • Ray Mills
  • Ryan Olson

Here’s a look at who is leading the race so far as we track election results.

In Georgia, candidates must meet a 50% + 1 vote threshold to secure an outright victory and avoid a runoff.

As of Tuesday night at 11:20 p.m., there was no clear winner. However, Gumbs was leading — but still not enough to break the 50% +1 vote threshold.
