Parents charged, investigation opens after 5-year-old dies in Marietta, police say

Detectives from the Marietta Police Department were called in after abundant evidence and initial statements were taken.

MARIETTA, Ga. — A parental abuse investigation is underway in Marietta after the death of a 5-year-old child, authorities say.

On Feb. 1, emergency services arrived at a home on the 400 block of Ramona Street after receiving a 911 call from a mother and father saying that they had been performing CPR on their 5-year-old son, and he was not conscious and breathing.
