Ex-college football player identified in Atlanta dog beheading case, bond denied

Jalen Wade, who is a former Georgia State football player and artist known as “Lil Drip” is charged with aggravated cruelty to animals.

ATLANTA — A Fulton County judge denied bond Thursday for an Atlanta man accused of beheading a dog and posting images of it on social media, a case that led to an hours-long police standoff in northwest Atlanta.

Jalen Wade, 30, is charged with aggravated cruelty to animals, a felony, along with a misdemeanor charge of willful obstruction of law enforcement officers.

Officers were called Wednesday afternoon to a home on Illinois
