Getty Jacob deGrom was scratched from his scheduled start due to neck stiffness
The Texas Rangers were forced into a sudden change Saturday, and it came at the worst possible time.
Just hours before he was scheduled to take the mound against the Philadelphia Phillies, right-hander Jacob deGrom was scratched due to neck stiffness, abruptly pulling him from what was expected to be one of the Rangers’ early-season tone-setting matchups.
The move was first reported by Evan Grant, who noted that left-hander Jacob Latz would take deGrom’s place. This was not a pregame adjustment made the night before.
