Brian Hooker leaves the Bahamas while search continues for his missing wife

Hooker was released from police custody without charges Monday. His lawyer said he was returning to the U.S. because his mother is ill.

Brian Hooker, whose wife Lynette has been missing for more than a week after reportedly falling overboard in the Bahamas, has left the country, his attorney confirmed to news outlets Wednesday. 

Hooker was released from police custody Monday after being held as a suspect in his wife’s disappearance. His lawyer said he was returning to the U.S. because his mother is ill. 

Bahamian police said they are now using cadaver dogs to assist
