MIAMI — A federal jury ordered Carnival Corporation to pay $300,000 in damages to a California nurse who was served at least 14 shots of tequila aboard one of its cruise ships in a single afternoon and evening — then suffered a serious fall that left her with a possible traumatic brain injury.

The Miami federal jury ruled in favor of Diana Sanders, a 45-year-old nurse from Vacaville, California. The events took place Jan. 5,
