NORFOLK, Va. — The USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78) has surpassed the record for the longest U.S. aircraft carrier deployment since the Vietnam War.
The carrier has operated in multiple regions, including the Mediterranean, Caribbean and the Middle East, and has been involved in fighting the war with Iran.
The Navy expects the Ford to return to Naval Station Norfolk, Virginia, in May, though its deployment could be extended further.
