BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — A 7-year-old girl has died days after a crash that killed her mother and two siblings, deepening the loss for a family.
Family members said Brynleigh Pledger, 7, died Wednesday from injuries she suffered in a wreck Saturday morning near Alabama Highway 157 and Highway 24.
According to the Lawrence County Coroner, Brynleigh’s twin sister, Bryleigh Pledger, was pronounced dead at the scene, along with her older brother, 13-year-old Bryant Ballew. Their mother, 33-year-old Ashley Hagood, was taken to a nearby hospital but died shortly after arriving.
