United Airlines flight diverted to Pittsburgh after reported ‘security issue’

Passengers aboard the Boeing 737 plane were evacuated safely using the aircraft’s emergency slides.

WASHINGTON — A United Airlines flight bound for New York’s LaGuardia airport was diverted Saturday after a reported “security concern,” prompting passengers to evacuate the plane using its emergency slides. 

United Airlines confirmed that Flight 2092, which departed from Chicago’s O’Hare Airport, was diverted to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on Saturday morning. The Boeing 737 plane was met upon arrival with a bomb squad from local officials at Pittsburgh International Airport, the Allegheny County Police Department said in a statement.
