Detroit — Michigan Democrats nominated Washtenaw County Prosecutor Eli Savit as their candidate for state attorney general Sunday, choosing him for the statewide ballot in November over Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald.
The vote Sunday at a Michigan Democratic Party endorsement convention in Detroit sets up a November election contest between Savit and Eaton County Prosecutor Doug Lloyd, the Republican nominee for attorney general.
