Fed chair nominee on 2020 election winner: ‘Keep politics out of monetary policy’

WASHINGTON (TNND) — Federal Reserve chairman nominee Kevin Warsh said Tuesday when asked who won the 2020 presidential election, “Keep politics out of monetary policy.”

During Warsh’s confirmation hearing, Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., the ranking member on the Senate Banking Committee, asked him whether Biden won the 2020 election, The Hill reported.

“We try to keep politics, if I’m confirmed, out of” the Fed, Warsh said.

“I’m just asking a factual question,” Warren responded. “I need to know. I need to measure your independence and your courage.”
