CARROLL COUNTY, Ga. — The Carroll County Board of Education unanimously voted this week to name Dr. Jessica M. Ainsworth as the district’s next superintendent.
She will begin this summer, following Superintendent Scott Cowart’s retirement. Cowart will leave the position June 30.
Ainsworth, an internal candidate for the job, was named the sole finalist earlier this month. In a news release, district officials said she has a deep background in education administration. Her role was elevated to associate superintendent in 2024, following her rejoining the school system
