ROME, Ga. — One person is dead, and another is in the hospital following an early morning fire in Floyd County.
A little before 5 am, Rome-Floyd fire crews responded to a reported structure fire at 63 OId Lindale Road.
A total of 18 fire personnel responded to combat this fire. The first arriving engine reported that a single-family home was heavily involved in fire. Fire crews began attacking the interior offensively while searching for occupants.
