HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) – It was a surprise that left James Madison University senior, Grace Sawyer, shocked on Tuesday afternoon when she was awarded the Inaugural Keith B. Jones Award for Excellence in Political Journalism.
“I think I haven’t seen my family in so long, so I saw them first and thought to myself, ‘ Oh, I need to go over and hug my parents and then I looked around and it was everybody I worked with, it was some of my professors, it was all of my best friends so I was shocked to say the least,” Sawyer said.
