I-85 in DeKalb reopens after tanker crash kills 1, injures others

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — All lanes are now open following a fiery crash on I-85 in DeKalb County early Sunday morning that claimed the life of one person and injured several others.

DeKalb Fire crews were dispatched around 2 am to I-85 northbound near Shallowford Rd. Upon arrival, they found multiple vehicles involved in a wreck. One of the vehicles was a tanker truck that caught fire.

We are working to find out the identity of the deceased, as well as the conditions of the surviving victims, and if any charges will be filed.
