New calls for Black athletes to boycott SEC over redistricting

The political fight over redistricting is landing on the football field, where some activists and actors are calling on Black student-athletes to boycott schools in the South. LZ Granderson of the Los Angeles Times weighs in, questioning whether that responsibility should fall on Black athletes alone. Calling the issue “multifaceted,” he says, “the idea that only Black athletes are responsible for using their platform to address racism … is just naive.”
