Flight carrying US representative makes emergency landing

The American Eagle flight began filling up with smoke shortly before landing in Kansas City.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — An American Airlines regional jet carrying a congressman from Kansas made an emergency landing at Kansas City International Airport on Friday.

American Eagle Flight 5318, operated by PSA Airlines, was flying to Kansas City from Washington D.C., when the plane began filling up with smoke. 

U.S. Rep. Tracey Mann (R-Kansas) posted a video from the tarmac after everyone on board was evacuated.
