‘Instinct took over’ | Triple shooting victim explains why he tried to help

Michael Hennessey is recovering in the hospital after he was shot twice in the Muncie triple shooting on Mother’s Day.

MUNCIE, Ind. — Every day, twice a day, Michael Hennessy drives on South Walnut Street in Muncie to pick up and drop off his friend, but on Sunday, he witnessed something worth stopping for.

Hennessey saw a man pulling a woman by her feet down the sidewalk around 5:30 p.m. May 10.

“I’ve seen that and instinct took over, I guess,” Hennessey said.
