Albany Mayor Dorcey Applyrs is looking at steps for addressing the city’s budget deficit, as the prior fiscal year comes to a close.
The mayor delivered an update on Saturday.
It followed a recent report from the city treasurer that said the 2025 fiscal year ended with a $19 million operating deficit, more than previously thought.
It also comes as the city faces a $22 million deficit in the 2026 fiscal year.
On Saturday, the mayor said her administration has been able to find almost $6 million in savings to address that deficit.
