Deputies in Spokane recover $70,000 stolen metal T-Rex statue buried underground

The dinosaur, due to its extreme size and weight of about 400 pounds, had to be towed out of the ground by tow trucks.

SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash — Deputies in Spokane County have recovered a $70,000, 400-pound metal T-Rex statue that had been missing for months. 

The statue was stolen from its perch in north Spokane County on March 8. The statue is a custom-made metal dinosaur that owners say costs approximately $70,000 to replace. 

The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office had received tips regarding a look-alike statue that was riding around in a black SUV
