ATLANTA — Friends, family and business partners are mourning the loss of Sharell Canty, a prominent figure in Atlanta’s nightlife scene, after Gwinnett County police said she was killed in what investigators are calling a domestic violence-related homicide.
Police said officers responded Sunday morning to a home on Wilkerson Way in Grayson after a neighbor reported a dead person. Investigators later identified the victim as 44-year-old Canty, co-owner of Atlanta’s Opium nightclub.
