Trees down, roughly 2,000 without power in Troup County after strong storms roll through

Utility officials said roughly 2,000 customers were without power Monday evening as crews worked to restore service.

TROUP COUNTY, Ga. — Strong storms moved through parts of Troup County on Monday, leaving downed trees and scattered power outages across the area.

Emergency crews responded to roughly 40 calls involving trees down on roadways and near homes as storms passed through the county.

Utility officials said roughly 2,000 customers were without power Monday evening as crews worked to restore service. Authorities urged drivers to use caution in areas where trees or debris may still be blocking
