Universal healthcare is the best path to health
I think reliable, affordable healthcare matters.
A new OHSU study finds that when people with diabetes (or other chronic conditions) lose their healthcare, they get worse. Regular monitoring, medication adjustments, and consistent access to treatments are necessary to control chronic health conditions so having a major disruption in care will increase the symptoms and cause more sickness.
Yet, this is exactly what happens when patients lose medical insurance coverage or get priced out of the market. Those changing jobs or changing medical care providers are also vulnerable to relapses in health care.
