With Austin Wells nearing a return, the New York Yankees are preparing to make moves at catcher.

According to Joel Sherman of the New York Post, the club is expected to demote J.C. Escarra to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to make room for Wells behind the plate.

“The expectation is that Austin Wells will be activated by the Yankees on Sunday and they will send down J.C. Escarra to keep Ali Sanchez in the majors for the RHB and to preserve catching
