Mayor Zohran Mamdani on Wednesday appointed Anthony Shorris to be president of the city’s Economic Development Corporation and Lina Khan to be the chair of the EDC’s board of directors.
“Today’s appointees not only share a vision for the future of this office, but a commitment to executing it,” Mamdani said during a press conference.
Shorris served as first deputy mayor under the de Blasio administration. He has also previously served as executive director of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, and as deputy chancellor for operations with the city’s Department of Education.
