How gun dealers with serious past violations got licenses back under Trump

The raffles were posted to Facebook with enticing prizes for winners – PlayStations, NBA tickets and even guns from a local shop.

But the man running the contests, authorities later learned, wasn’t licensed to deal firearms. In fact, he was a convicted felon.

As agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives looked into the contests, the man told them that the owner of the shop providing the guns knew about his criminal record and helped him anyway – an allegation the owner denied.
