Data centers have become an issue in the upcoming midterm elections, and as the centers rapidly expand around the country, more and more governments are putting temporary bans in place.
In North Carolina more than 30 localities have enacted a temporary moratorium on building new centers including the cities of Durham, Wilson and Charlotte and Haywood, Chatham, Surry and Davie counties.
That comes amid significant concerns about the facilities.
