image The nomination of Todd Blanche as attorney general is in peril after Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, canceled a meeting with the nominee. Cornyn said the Department of Justice has failed to satisfy his concerns about a provision of the controversial settlement of President Donald Trump’s lawsuit against the IRS. The provision gives Trump and others effective immunity from audits and enforcement actions related to tax returns filed before the settlement was reached.
