Fancy Farm upheld tradition of trash talk and political endorsements during 146th event

FANCY FARM, Ky. (WAVE) – Political jabs were coming in hot as the 146th annual St. Jerome Fancy Farm Picnic took place on Saturday, Aug. 1.

Kentucky’s top politicos traded barbs ahead of the upcoming U.S Senate and 2027 gubernatorial races.

Despite the absence of figures like Governor Andy Beshear and U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell, the crowd was its usual rowdy self.

Beshear, who skipped the event to attend his son’s baseball game, offered his ‘Fancy Farm-esque’ comments after the event via X.

Among his jabs at Republicans was a comment directed at the other major absentee, Mitch McConnell.
