Maya Annik Bedward’s debut feature, Black Zombie, has been one of the standout titles of the pre-fall festival circuit since its debut at SXSW in March. The title was picked up for the U.S. by Kino Lorber out of Austin and has continued to play at almost every major documentary and genre festival on the circuit, including Fantasia in Montreal, Canada.
“The screening was sold out. People loved it. It was great,” Bedward says with a smile of the screening in Montreal.
