Former Gov. Charlie Baker will be back in Massachusetts next week just as the 2026 election heats up, but don’t expect him to be supporting any fellow Republicans during his return trip to the Bay State.
Baker, along with former Lt. Gov. Karyn Polito, will be hosting a fundraiser for Democratic state Rep. and Bristol DA candidate Chris Markey in Boston on August 13. Markey’s challenger in the race, Seth Aitken, took it as a snub. Both candidates are running to replace DA Thomas Quinn III, who is retiring.
