Chris Carter is finally getting the director’s cut of The X-Files movie he intended to release almost 20 years ago.

The X-Files: I Want to Believe — Vrach Frankenshteyn is set to premiere on August 14 on Disney+ and Hulu, as the streamer is also working on a reboot by Ryan Coogler.

Originally released in 2008, the supernatural thriller was directed by Carter, who also co-wrote it alongside Fran Spotnitz. The X-Files: I Want to Believe was a sequel to the 1998 film and released six years after the main series ended. David Duchovny, Gillian Anderson and Mitch Pileggi reprise
