TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — U.S. Sen. Ashley Moody won the Republican primary Tuesday, earning 79.6% percent of the vote with 99% of the precincts reporting.
Moody came to office after former Sen. Marco Rubio took his post as Secretary of State. She was appointed to the post by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, triggering a special election for 2026.
She faced three Republican challengers: Chris Gleason, Neelam Perry and Ernie Rivera.
For the general election, she will face the winner of the Democratic primary, Angie Nixon, as well as Neil Gillespie, who has no party affiliation.
