The battle for Iowa’s open U.S. Senate seat is now a “toss-up” and the governor’s race “leans Democrat,” according to nonpartisan election analysts at the Cook Political Report.

The rating change in favor of Democrats in both statewide races reflects Iowa’s increasingly competitive position this year, with an open Senate and governor’s race on the ballot for the first time since 1968.
