LINCOLN — Second Congressional District Republican candidate Paul LePage said Wednesday he believes data centers can be beneficial, if they are properly regulated.
LePage, a former two-term governor, said he helped develop what is now the Sappi paper mill in Westbrook and that the mill addressed concerns about water quality and energy use.
He said data centers will be responsible for generating their own power “because we’ll ask them to do that.”
