EXCLUSIVE: German director Tony Valh’s World War Two drama Krux debuts in Toronto followed by San Sebastian next month and Deadline can reveal a first trailer.

Inspired by true events, it tells the dark story of a small northeastern German village at the end of World War Two, when the Nazi regime gave its citizens the order to “leave nothing alive for the enemy to find”.

Most of the men are at the front. What remains is a handful of women, children, and the few men who were allowed to stay behind. Life still runs on its old rituals:
