Data centers ‘exploded’ in Pa. politics this year. How will it impact Lancaster County’s 36th Senate District race?

Voters across the country are being inundated with campaign advertisements about data centers and artificial intelligence ahead of the November midterm election, including in Lancaster County’s highly competitive 36th Senate District where GOP state Rep. Tom Jones is challenging incumbent Democrat James Malone.

A recent television ad from Jones’ campaign calls Malone an “extremist” and attacks his voting record on data centers. Malone, the ad claimed, opposes letting local communities have control over data center development.
