ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The House Oversight Committee has opened a new investigation into DEA fentanyl policies after whistleblowers said agents let hundreds of thousands of pills stay on the streets.
The committee announced the investigation more than a month after New Mexico congressional members asked for answers about DEA policies tied to fentanyl cases.
Chairman James Comer, a Republican, said in a letter to the U.S. Department of Justice that the Biden administration disregarded protocols from President Trump’s first administration and allowed pills to stay on the streets to build bigger cases.
