3 Central Arkansas political candidates call for change at state police after arrest videos

Three candidates for federal and local offices in Central Arkansas on Wednesday added their voices to those calling for change at the Arkansas State Police after videos taken last month showed what critics described as excessive use of force by troopers during two arrests in Mississippi County.

Chris Jones, Wendell Griffen and Benny Johnson said at a news conference at First Liberty Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Little Rock that the lack of action by top state officials amounts to an endorsement of the troopers’ actions.
