County party leaders warn against political sign theft/vandalism as midterms loom

With a critical midterm election on the horizon this November, resulting heightened political tensions can lead to adverse actions against free expression, Hancock County’s political signs being among the targets.

The most recent rash of vandalism occurred at a private property along Route 1 in Gouldsboro. There, a string of “Burma Shave”-style sequential signs criticizing the Trump administration and its tariffs were stolen and vandalized by an unknown person/people right at the start of September.
