An attendee in the crowd at the Republican midterm convention in Dallas shouted during a primetime speech on Sept. 10 for Democratic U.S. Senate candidates Abdul El-Sayed of Michigan and James Talarico of Texas to be shot.
“He should be shot!” the unidentified heckler yelled from the audience during a speech by Texas Sen. Ted Cruz when Cruz was speaking about each candidate, El-Sayed and Talarico, and also about New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani.
El-Sayed, a progressive from Ann Arbor, said later on CNN that those who heard the remarks should condemn them “across the board.”
