I read with interest that 19 candidates are running for Mayor and Council in the City of Boulder. That’s quite a few, but not too many more than in the ‘80s when I was elected to Council. What has really changed are the payroll and the philosophy of public service; we were paid nothing. Zero. The new candidates are trying for $41,000 to $51,000 per year.
