EXCLUSIVE: Filmmaker Beth de Araújo’s breakout year is continuing with the announcement of a signature award from the upcoming Orcas Island Film Festival in Washington state.
The festival announced Tuesday it will honor the director of Josephine with its Jean-Marc Vallée Vanguard Award, named for the late filmmaker and frequent guest of the Orcas Island Film Festival. The award celebrates “bold, distinctive artists” whose work embodies Vallée’s “spirit of creative independence and discovery.”
