EXCLUSIVE: Danny Boyle, whose latest film Ink opened last month’s Venice Film Festival, has been tapped to receive the Gotham Director Tribute at the 36th annual Gotham Film Awards in November.
The honor recognizes recognizes filmmakers whose bodies of work have made significant contributions to contemporary cinema. It will celebrate Boyle’s four-decade career that includes winning the Best Director Oscar in 2009 for Slumdog Millionaire as well as Ink, his pic about the beginnings of tabloid journalism in the UK in 1969 when Rupert Murdoch launched The Sun.
