The Organization of American States (OAS) approved a resolution on Friday that urged Nicaragua to guarantee human rights, hold free and fair elections and unconditionally release political prisoners.
The measure was adopted during the organization’s 31st Meeting of Consultation of Ministers of Foreign Affairs, convened in Washington to address the country’s political and human rights situation.
