Colorado Republican Party Secretary Russ Andrews broke with the state party Thursday to endorse unaffiliated gubernatorial candidate Greg Lopez over GOP nominee Victor Marx, saying he’d found it “impossible” to support Marx’s candidacy “in good conscience” after a series of recent revelations.
“I feel it was the right thing to do, and staying true to myself and my integrity is more important than being secretary of the party,” Andrews told Colorado Politics. “I just don’t want my name associated with Victor’s. I’ve got to sleep at night, too.”
