Political expert weighs in on challenges facing Adam Hamilton in Kansas Senate run

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. (KCTV) – The founding pastor of one of the largest churches in the Kansas City metro shared his plans to run for office on Thursday.

Rev. Adam Hamilton, the pastor of Church of the Resurrection, announced he would run for the Democratic nomination for the Kansas Senate.

Johnson County Community College political science professor Andrea Vieux said Hamilton made the right call by running as a Democrat.

“It’s very difficult,” Vieux said of running as an independent.

Hamilton carries strong name recognition on the eastern side of the state.
