New York lawmakers pass 9th state budget extender that runs through May 6

The New York state Legislature on Monday passed a ninth state budget extender — now more than a month past the budget’s deadline — which was signed into law by Gov. Kathy Hochul.

The extender runs through Wednesday and funds state operations.

The budget was due April 1.

Hochul told reporters on Friday she is hopeful a budget framework deal could come this week.
