Political analyst gives early look at Louisiana’s U.S. Senate GOP runoff

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – Congresswoman Julia Letlow and State Treasurer John Fleming will face off in a June runoff election after gaining enough support to oust Sen. Bill Cassidy from his seat.

Letlow gained 45 percent of the GOP vote, while Fleming gained 28 percent of the vote.

President Trump and Gov. Landry both endorsed Letlow for U.S. Senate. Meanwhile, Fleming grew his campaign from a grassroots effort and was able to advance to a runoff despite tens of millions of dollars spent by the Cassidy campaign.
